python3.14-freethreading - Free Threading (PEP 703) version of the Python interpreter

The Free Threading (PEP 703) build of Python interpreter.

CPython's global interpreter lock ("GIL") prevents multiple threads from
executing Python code at the same time. The GIL is an obstacle to using
multi-core CPUs from Python efficiently.

This build of Python is built with the --disable-gil option.
It lets the interpreter run Python code without the global interpreter lock
and with the necessary changes needed to make the interpreter thread-safe.

The python3.14-freethreading package provides the "python3.14t" executable.
The majority of its standard library is provided in the
python3.14-freethreading-libs package, which should be installed
automatically along with python3.14-freethreading.
The remaining parts of the Python standard library are broken out into the
python3.14-freethreading-tkinter and
python3.14-freethreading-test packages,
which may need to be installed separately.

python3.14-debug - Debug version of the Python runtime

python3-debug provides a version of the Python runtime with numerous debugging
features enabled, aimed at advanced Python users such as developers of Python
extension modules.

This version uses more memory and will be slower than the regular Python build,
but is useful for tracking down reference-counting issues and other bugs.

The debug build shares installation directories with the standard Python
runtime. Python modules -- source (.py), bytecode (.pyc), and C-API extensions
(.cpython*.so) -- are compatible between this and the standard version
of Python.

The debug runtime additionally supports debug builds of C-API extensions
(with the "d" ABI flag) for debugging issues in those extensions.

libabigail - Set of ABI analysis tools

The libabigail package comprises six command line utilities:
abidiff, kmidiff, abipkgdiff, abicompat, abidw, and abilint
The abidiff command line tool compares the ABI of two
ELF shared libraries and emits meaningful textual reports about
changes impacting exported functions, variables and their types.
Simarly, the kmidiff compares the kernel module interface of two Linux
kernels. abipkgdiff compares the ABIs of ELF binaries contained in
two packages. abicompat checks if a subsequent version of a shared
library is still compatible with an application that is linked against
it. abidw emits an XML representation of the ABI of a given ELF
shared library. abilint checks that a given XML representation of the
ABI of a shared library is correct.

Install libabigail if you need to compare the ABI of ELF shared
libraries.
